I tell my clients to use an exercise plan that works for you. If you feel that you have to force yourself to exercise at this time....it may not be an option for you. You may start sleeping in and forget about exercise all together. I physically schedule exercise times into my day so I can keep appointments with myself. Exercise counts no matter what time you do it. :) Good luck!

gruesome!!! Almost gives me the horrors thinking about it

Make sure you get in bed by 8:30/9pm .. .. one should aim for 8hrs or what ever you are getting .. and the rhythm will be disrupted so sleep won't be so good for the first week or so.

Then set at least 2 clocks. I would set one at 4:30 and the other at 5pm. and don't have them next to each other.

And I find if I REALLY want to do it, I can. So try and make the early morning nice. Eat a snack. Enjoy the sunrise. Make this a GOOD time, not a Horrible .. yukko .. oh my g.d I have to exercises day.

Go for it.

We all have physical clocks in our head... I tried this once.
And it worked but I got really tired because I wasn't going to bed earlier, and I wasn't making up the sleep.

Our sleep patterns are set so that after 4 hours we get close to waking up... sleep at 10 close to waking up at 2 am and the next cycle is 3 hours long... and so 5 am we are close to waking up. the next cycle is 2 hours long and the last one is 1 hour... that is why it so hard to sleep more than 8 hours a night.

Granted our clocks vary a little bit (15-30 min) but its about the same.

be sure to set your alarm at 5 and you should wake up ok... just try to make up the sleep sometime durring the day.

It depends how old you are - teenagers sleep/awake clocks are set to work best at night and sleep until about noon - trying to alter that means you're going to be waking up in the middle of when you should be asleep, and that's not very healthy.

Set an alarm, go to bed earlier... you have to have the will power to do it, so psych yourself up for it ahead of time.
