I'm not too experienced at the whole concept of cybering, but from what I gather, it means different things to different people. For some, it requires visual and/or audio stimulation. Others can get by with just textual descriptions alone.
I guess that it's like the difference between watching television and reading a book. Some people need to see and hear what is going on in order to gain satisfaction from the story. Others would rather let their minds fill in the blanks for them, creating their own mindspace where the story comes alive.
Neither form is inherently better than the other, despite what some might say. Using my analogy, there are times that I would rather watch the action performed by others, as attempting to relay the information textually is insufficient. (Action films, physical comedy, and yes, certain forms of sexuality come to mind.) In general, I tend to prefer to let my mind direct the information in my head, as if I'm creating the conversation in my head, and other forms of sexuality fit into that mold. Probably the best way to resolve that concept is with the philosophy of "to each his or her own".
In summary, it simply sounds like you and the young lady in question had different expectations. Nothing wrong with either, but they simply are not truly compatible. Hope that helps.
