Did he get a chest xray? Sound like pneumonia but go back to the doc, first, change docs.
HE HAS TO HAVE A CHEST XRAY AND INSIST ON ONE!!!

If your husband smokes, he needs to stop smoking for good now.
If you smoke or your children smoke or someone is smoking around him. they need to stop now.
Sometimes allergies are the culprit.
Go back to the doctor and have him checked again.
There is a blood pressure med which causes coughing as a side effect. I cannot remember the name of it now.
If your husband has asthma, he could be bronchospasming. He needs to go back to the doctor.

If you regular doctor can't figure it out after three visits, why hasn't he referred your husband to a respiratory specialist? Why hasn't your hubby insisted on seeing one? Something tells me you haven't given over the whole story, like maybe he smokes heavily?

How about going to another doctor. He might need to see a specialist. Ask the doctor you are currently seeing about this. He can recommend someone to you.
