I think it's one good reason to have a child, but there are many. I don't believe that one reason should make your decision to become a parent. That reason will not get you through the rough times of parenting. One must have individual/personal desires to become a parent.

In theory it is a good idea to have a grandchild so your grandparents can enjoy their grandchildren. In reality it is a bad idea. You should have a child when you are completely ready. You shouldn't have a child for someone else. Children are a lot of work and if you are not ready for that responsibility you shouldn't have one regardless of the age of your grandparents.

providing a child for someones amusement, gratification, bloodline etc is NEVER a good reason to give birth.
You should have a child because YOU and your partner want to have a child FOR LIFE - because you will have it for life. A child will become your full time focus and your full time responsibility to love, nurture, raise.
If having a child encompasses all these reasons, then pleasing the grandparents is a bonus - not a reason....
In my humble opinion

well your grandparents would be your childs great grandparents. it is nice of you to want to include them in your childs life.... but think you have your parents who will be grand parents....
life is not something to be taken for granted. at any given time life could be taken away from you.....
you have to do what you want and not what is best for everyone else.. you have such a kind heart for wanting to share a child with your grandparents.
if you plan on having children someday, then it is not wrong. but if you never wanted children then it is a bad idea..

I think it is a good reason. It will be good for your grandparents and your child (ren) The world chages everyday and your grandparents will be able to share real life history with them.

Very thoughtful of you, but not the best reason in the world. Your heart is in the right place though! I think you should have the baby because you are ready and want one, not for someone else. Good luck, whatever you decide!

I do not think it is a good reason, although i understand what you mean. You need to be emotionally, financially and physically ready to have a child...If you aren't sure, maybe think about it some more because it is a huge commitment, responsibility and life changing. having a child is one of the greatest joys in life...when you are ready.

BAD REASON! You should want children because you and your spouse want them, not because you want your grandparents to be able to share in them. What happens when your grandparents die?

It's very conciderate of you, but you want to make sure you want a child enough to take good care of it. If you don't want it enough, that will make your grandparents upset and that's the worst thing for them, most likely

I think if you are basing your decision on someone else it is a bad idea HOWEVER, if you are in a place in your life where it would be a good time to have a child I think it is a very nice thought.
