It depends a lot on the dog. For large breeds, a single aspirin is okay, but for a smaller dog it might be too much. Talk to your vet about it when you pick her up, and see what the Doc prescribes.

Aspirin could cause bleeding after a spay so be careful! Your vet should give you pain meds like Torbutrol for pain. A bone is just cruel as dogs and cats do hurt after having their tummies split wide open! Over the counter drugs can kill animals.

Dogs are in very little pain after being spayed my puppy was spayed recently and she was perfectly fine without any medication. She was up and playing the same day. Our hardest thing was making her be still so she didn't pull out her staples

No, please don't give human meds to your dog. Ask your vet to send home some oral pain meds if she has a hard time. Most vets give a pain management injection post op, and it works well. Few dogs need much beyond that, but if they do there are several oral pain meds for dogs that can be sent home.

Ask the vet, and they will recomend a pain reliever for you to give to her. I'd be wary of giving her anything without checking with a vet first. I've heard that some pain relievers can be deadly to dogs.

I had my dog spayed today, and they gave me some pain management medicine for the next few days. Rimadyl is the name.

better to ask your Vet about that......some of the Antibiotics they give HAVE pain relief and swelling control in them, be safe, ask your Vet before grabbing something over the counter, don't kill your animal with kindness.....
