I would recommend you cut off all the split ends and then start this regime...
Brush it regularly with a proper quality brush to get the oils right down to the tips. Do this especially the night before you are due to wash it and brush for about 5 minutes.
Make sure you apply a deep conditioning treatment once a week without fail and more if you are on holiday in hot sun.

I hate to say this but the snob is right :D if you dont cut those split ends they will ruin the rest of your hair until it breaks off. I used to hate cutting my hair and until i went to cosmetology school and saw what could happen if i kept the splits. besides damaging the rest of your hair, there is no way to hide them. Split ends make you look poor and dirty and iam sure thats not the look your going for. it will only take about a 1/2 inch unless u let it get out of control, then you might have to take off more.

The only remedy is cutting it, you can't stick split ends back together, they will just split right up the hair and then break off.

I dont think you can repair split ends only cutting it would do the trick.. you could however try some serum to stick the ends together.. it doesnt cure the problem but helps your hair look healthy even when its not..

if you don't cut them they re going to keep splitting up the hair shaft. more and more damage is going to happen if you don't take care of this early. you don't have to cut alot, just about a quarter inch or so, that's how much hair grows in a month anyway, so its not like your losing much.

*Mash avocados and leave them on the ends of your hair for 15 minutes then rinse.
*Don't shampoo but every 2 days, most shampoos contain SLS which will strip your hair of oils and make the ends worse.
*Honey mixed with your conditioner (honey will lighten the hair, so if you have dark hair use molasses)
*Beer rinse (I'm not sure exactly what is in this that works, but I use it every week and it adds shine and body as well as makes my hair soft.)
*Soy sauce rinse (proteins in the sauce help repair hair)
*Massage an egg yolk into your hair, leave for 10 min or so then rinse. (warm to cool water, hot water will cook the egg)

you cant repair split ends, once the damage is done its done.
If you dont want them cut out , then you can minimise them, visually I mean, by blow drying hair from top to bottom, and using a serum to smooth.
