Try lemon with tea all day. Also, take a lemon, cut it in half and put a mint ball in the meaty part of the lemon and suck on it. I know it sounds odd but it really works. Also, take cough drops. So (1) lemon, honey and hot tea all day, (2) lemon with the mint ball, and (3) cough drops. This should work. If not, go see a doctor.

I like everyones cures... but mine is gargling OFTEN with salt water and Listerine in between. You are not swallowing it.. so you can't OD on doing it too often.
Basically you are trying to cauterize the throat so it can heal. The same way that someone puts a red hot knife to a bloody wound to make it stop bleeding.
Oh and one thing: Do NOT take Vitamin C and a Zinc product. they cancel each other out. One or the other.

Everyone says to gargle with warm salt water. I have found that if I drink warm fluids such as hot chocolate, hot tea, warm spiced cider and other warm things, it helps my throat improve greatly.
Also, take a dose of Nyquil tonite before you go to bed.
I can almost guarantee your throat pain will be much less tommorrow or gone.
Good luck.
