What type of fish is recommended for someone who doesn't particularly enjoy the "fishy" taste of seafood, yet wants something healthy to try? I've heard Mahi-Mahi is good, but what other suggestions do you have?

Halibut steak is pretty good....take anyfish and try soaking in milk for 2 hours or so before cooking.....this will take some of the "fishy" taste out....

Salmon has quite a "fishy" flavor.
I prefer fish like haliubut and ling cod.
Tuna isnt bad..much better fresh. and Mahi-Mahi is alot like tuna.
"white" fish I find alot of the time doesnt taste too "fishy".
Fresh fish is best, but frozen is ok... if you get frozen fish ..say hailbut for an example make sure that you cut all the fat off of it ( it will look brownish ) that makes alot of the difference in flavor.

I think it is in the way it is prepared - find someone who is an excellent cook. That makes all the difference in the world.

Mahi Mahi is good with rice.

My favorite is coconut shrimp served with a mango coconut dip. No fish taste at all. I didn't start eating shrimp / seafood until I was 21 now I absolutely love it if made right!

Mahi Mahi has a wonderful taste that doesnt particularly taste fishy. Put some lemon on it and its perfect!

Halibut and Sea-bass are a white fish that is firm and less fishy tasting. A lot depends on how you cook it though too. The only way I can eat salmon is to saute it in olive oil and chardonnay with Dijon mustard and your favorite spice on top. Goes great with pasta.

Catfish has a clean taste, too. Steam it with ginger and green onions to remove the extra smell. I put it in soups and boulliabaise or just do carfish tempuras.

White fish like cod and sea bass are great and very healthy. Cod and halibut make for great fish and chips. We do beer batter. For extra fluffiness and again the beer removes some extra odor.

Sea bass steams well with light soy sauce, ginger and cilantro. or you can bake it. Roll it on some chopped pecan and walnut crust for texture and flavor.

Hope you can try these recipes and enjoy them.

Mahi is okay, but I think red snapper is a "non-fishy" fish. Swordfish too, but I don't eat it anymore because it is being overfished. Marlin & Wahoo also.

A fish with a very light taste (not too fishy) is Tilapia.
NO COD...yuck...very fishy.

Sole is very, very mild. Almost tasteless. A good pick if you want mild, not fishy.
