If it's gradually changing colour and reducing in size I wouldn't worry. This means it probably healing. If it's as big as as colourful as it was when it first appeared and is showing no signs of reducing in size/shape/colour at all, you could go and see a doctor. Make sure you are getting enough vitamin C, which aids healing, and quit prodding it all the time!

I have extremely sensitive skin and a low blood clotting factor due to medication and anemia. Many of my bruises don't go away for 3 - 4 weeks, although they do change in color as they start to recede in that time.

If yours has not changed color to show it is healing, or if it continues for longer than another week, you should go to a doctor to be evaluated.

Good luck!

Another week or so and then yes. Do oyu know what caused the bruise? Spontaneous bruising can be a bad sign.

well i wouldn't be overly worried, but it can be a sign of iron deficency or other problems with your body, such as diabeties..that will cause your body to have problems healing....also depending on the depth of the bruise and what caused it, this could be normal... you may want to scheadule a doc visit anyways, just to talk to them...see if there is something really going on.

It's not necessarily something serious. Wait a few days. If it's really not fading at all, go get it checked out.
