Hmm. Okay, here's my take, which may or not make sense:
A religion as a system? Not inherently, but close to it.
A religions as an individual's perception of the world? Not inherently bad at all. Probably not even bad. In most cases, I'd say good.

Religion in and of itself is not inherently bad...it's how the followers of religion interpret their beliefs than can be bad.
