Someone who doesn't just sit on the couch and veg out while the kids play. Someone who actually interacts with them, has fun with them, and keeps them in order when they misbehave. Kids shouldn't get away with stuff just becuase they aren't being watched by mom and dad.

Ideally, the best babysitter is your mom or sister(in-laws). Also good are your friends. If I had to resort to a babysitter I didn't know, I'd choose a girl who was at least 16 and had references to her experience and character.

i just make sure i send my kids some where clean.. caring and loving.. i cant stand a babysitter that just sits on the couch and barks orders at the older kids.. i babysit myself..so i always like my house to b clean and i have like 9 kids a day so they usually just play among them selves

An extremely mature somebody who is honest, trustworthy, dedicated, and in it for the children, not the money. Someone who I can truly count on at anytime, be it day or night.

Someone spunky and fun who seems to meet the kids needs. Also someone you can trust. You should make sure that they come over to play with the kids even if they're not babysiting. Just to show that they're not just in it for the money.
