It totally depends on his current level of fitness and his usual diet. Pop Tarts might not be the healthiest option in the morning, but they aren't that bad either. In fact, when I was running cross-country I would have a package of pop-tarts an hour or two before the race. They were reccomended as a good, cheap option for pre-race. They do have more saturated fat than some things but then again, Luna, Slimfast, and Koshi are loaded with a lot of carbs. I'd let him stick with the pop tarts if he's relatively active--he exercises 3 times a week. And if he's totally sedentary, the Luna, Slimfast, and Koshi aren't going to be that much better if he's not exercising and eating well the other 90% of the time.

Poptarts ( for 2 of them ) contain 400 calories. I guess that is an okay amount. But I would stick to Koshi bars or whatever you were eating.

There is nothing wrong with having a pop tart every once in a while, but I'd say that having them daily probably isn't too good. They are high in sugar and just aren't the best option. You're on the right track with trying to purchase similar, healthier substitutes for your husband to eat. Good luck.

I think so. They have no vitamins in them and filled with empty calories. I'm all he's getting from them is an early morning sugar rush, a small burst of energy to start his day. If he insists on eating them , encourage him to dirink a glass of milk with them and a piece of fruit. That way he's getting some of what his body needs.

I think the pop-tarts are a little high in sugar. The bars you are buying are better just for their protein content

PopTarts are not giving your husband proper nutrients. They are mainly sugar and white flour. Your husband needs complex carbs and protein to satisfy his hunger!

They're not that good for you. Just look at the nutrition facts. It's probably better than forgoing breakfast altogether, but they're definitely not the ideal health food.

Anything loaded with sugar and preservatives is not good for you. Maybe once in while, but maybe not even that.
