Yes, and that's the problem -- our "free will" has a natural inclination to be against God, never for him. We are "free" to grope around in the dark all we like, we can claim nothing without the Holy Spirit opening our eyes and turning on the Light.

According to the Bible, No. Proverbs 21:1 tells us the "...King's heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turns it whichever way he pleases."
A similar verse is found a few chapters earlier in Proverbs 16:9 "A man's heart devises his way: but the Lord directs his steps."
We know that God hardened the heart of Pharoah, and opened the heart of Lydia. We know from John 10 and Romans 9 that God sees two classes of people, those who go to heaven, and those who will not.
According to Ephesians 2:10, Christians have been foreordained to work good works.
You may think you are free of God's will, but in fact, He has you right where He wants you. And He sees all, and knows all.
Hope this helps!
Booyakasha!

Seeing as the idea of an almighty creator is out the window, I guess everyone is really allowed the freedom to choose what they want to.....
If youre asking from a religious point of view, then I would have to state that the Christian idea of free will cannot exist with other concepts that they beleive in as well - under Christianity, free will is an illusion and nothing more.

God is omnipotent and all-powerful. There is nothing He cannot do except violate His own nature. He could have created us the way that we would always obey Him...but He made us to His image..that means that we know what is right and what is wrong.
But I also believe that because He has this foreknowledge, He also knows what we are going to choose...and He allows that. He knows everything about us...also how we are going to use our free will.
He could have made us perfect, the way that we are going to be in heaven = we are not going to have an desire to sin and do wrong + we have perfect understanding on everything.
So He did not make us perfect because even when He knows how things are going to be because He knows us exhaustively...He still does not force us to His will. The perfect love comes with a choice. And He really gave us the free will.

Naw...even Christians are giving you the choice....LOVE GOD..OR BURN...who's gonna pick BURN? But you can pick an undefined choice, not to believe any of it. Still, what you pick is largely determined by your upbringing and whether you feel that if it were not for God you would be 'free' to commit all crimes.

Yes. Many reject Jesus's perfect life example of peace and healing for no apparent reason other than the love of self and love of dominion. They try very hard to dismiss the God of the universe and worship nature. In this way, they imagine that they rule.

Everyone has free will, whether or not we chose to use it is a different question. There are many factors in today's society that influence the choices we make, and can hinder our decision to use our own free will.

Only if you lived as a hermit. People in high places have taken mans basic rights away from us. Birth cost, living cost, and death will cost. The Republican way "make money off thy neighbor".
