I can't speak for everybody, but I love how vulnerable and helpless I feel when I'm tied down to the bed - especially if I'm blindfolded and gagged. For me, it's something about how much trust I have to give that person that is such a turn on. I've been doing this for over 15 years and it's just as exciting now as it was the first time my husband asked to put handcuffs on me.

It's hard to put into words, and it's not a concept easily shared, but in many cases, there can be a true beauty to someone that is tied up. In Japan, they have actually managed to turn bondage into a true art form called shibari, involving elaborate rope-work.
I suppose that in general, there can be the aura that emerges from a calm surrender of one's ability to move. It's in many way the same sensation of looking at someone in the eyes and being unable to withstand the beauty that one beholds. I suppose that it differs between the top and the bottom, but the difference is merely perspective. The bottom has consented to become the object of adoration of the top, while the top becomes able to adore the bottom unhindered.
These are just speculations of mine, but I've witnessed numerous occasions where intimate power emerges when one surrenders their body as well as their heart to another. It is something that probably is as mysterious as why beauty exists at all.
Hope that helps.

It's a control thing. Having/surrendering control to somebody you trust not to go too far.
