I have tried various protein building shakes, some with better results than others but am looking for a wider variety/source of protein (vegetarian) foods

Being a vegetarian limits you as to what you can eat for protein. You can eat tofu(yuck). I recommend protein shakes. You can get these in the Health Food stores and you make a shake with the powder. Get some vanilla and throw in some vanilla icecream and drink your protein.

Depends on how much of a vegitarian you are! Do you each cheese at all? If so, Goats cheese, like Greek Feta or Australian Bree are very hign in protein and also in good fats!

Another high protein food is unpasturised milk!
