Depends on the software and the international version that you have bought.

Well, I thought that OCR was for a character not a word. From my knowledge OCR does a character by character recognition, so I don't think that language is an issue here.

Optical Character Recognition (OCR)

I use this a lot and it does it character by character. That's why somethimes it confuses the O's with 0(ceros) etc.
