Its one of the last names in my family and it seems to be fairly rare. I've been doing some research to see what its origins are and its pretty interesting. One of its origins seems to be that of an ancient English heraldic creature that had the head of a fox, body of a lion, front legs of an eagle, rear legs and tail of a wolf. It was supposed to watch over fallen chieftains to protect their bodies for proper burial. Any other info about the Enfield or the Enfield family name would be appreciated. Thanks.
