I mean, come on, people. Just think about it. We all worship a god (or at least the guys I'm talking to) and when someone says "You guys suck" or something like that, we all team up against that one religion and it keeps going on with a different religion every time. doesn't it just get annoying? We all have the concept of one God and all religions teach tolerance (Including Islam for me), so why is it that people on here don't practice it anymore?
And I didn't get the idea from watching south park, if anyone's wondering.

OK, sorry to the Hindu and polytheist ppl. I just didn't know how to put in words to include you. I can tell ur offended. And also, when someone who has a religion badmouths another belief, let's just not respond.

and to Josh, we actually believe that everyone is born pure, but sins 'dirty' us. there is forgiveness in repenting (I'm not trying to force you to convert, I'm just kinda in too much of a hurry to word the whole thing out). I'm not saying to blend all beliefs and stuff, but just to stay loosely united.

I really like what you said about that.
I'm also a person who believes in one God, and I also believe in accepting people. I'm a Christian, and I know we are normally seen as very judgemental, irrational, etc. But that's simply not what our faith is about. Yeah, everyone makes mistakes, but we're taught to love everyone! That includes people we don't like or agree with.
I have also heard great things about your religion, and I'm glad you're speaking against all the hateful things people say about any of us. that's awesome! I really think it's too bad that people say some awful things about Islam because of the recent rise in terrorism. Just like Christians, not all Muslims believe exactly the same thing - so your religion shouldn't be judged because of those who are doing crazy things. I don't think of terrorism as being the result of Islam - it's those individuals who are killing people who are at fault, not their religion. I'm sure there have been many violent "Christians" in the past. That doesn't mean we all are.
I wonder if people who say really insulting things on here would be so bold if you met them in person. I haven't met a lot of people who seem hateful towards religious people, even though they might not understand. I think people just feel more free to bash each other on here because we don't actually know each other. It's sad because it's like we're really just wasting our time on this site, instead of trying to learn from each other and understand others. It could be so much more interesting if we all just respected each other's beliefs.
Thanks for your question. I think your attitude about that is really cool, and I hope you don't let other people get to you too much!

Because even though many religions support morality and "being nice," they disagree on most everything else, including the characteristics/attributes of God, purpose/meaning of humanity, the reason for evil, etc. etc. etc.
By the way, only Christianity, Judaism, and Islam believe in one God. Pantheism believes that God is the universe, God is in the trees, etc.

Uhm...what makes you think there is only ONE god?
Oh, I see, you are referring to Jachweh (Yahweh, Jehova), who pretended to be the only god existing. Haha, yeah right. Maybe THAT is the reason why his FIRST commandment was "You must not worship other gods before me" or such, hahaha.
Basically, I think all three abrahamic religions (who believe there is only one god and that is of course Jachweh) killed each other throughout history because it is really about politics. The religious feature is only camouflage.
It was always about stealing somebody else's land or goods, gold or silver or money or buildings, you name it, and the easiest way was always to claim it "for god".
When the christians destroyed Jerusalem various times and killed each and everyone there, do you think it was because they wanted revenche for "the jewish killed our Lord Jesus"??? That is what they said, but of course it was really about stealing the victims' properties.
The same they did with european pagans who did not want to convert to the new religion. They were simply declared as "with the devil" and that was punished with death, and then all their properties fell into the hand of "the church" Guess why the catholic church is so extremely rich????

Well, you're wrong about one thing-- most religions actually have a concept of multiple gods. But yes, it would be nice if people could be more tolerant like their religions tell them. But if that were the case, wouldn't it be wrong to retaliate against those people?

Afaik all religions lead faraway from God. Religiousity turn human beings faraway from God in the sense that folk recognize/prioritize extra the regulations and regulations fairly than the middle of God. Kinda like human beings falling in love with the regulation fairly of why the regulation develop into made. social gathering. a guy receives arrested for jaywalking and given a superb. Why? because he ran on the line to maintain a boy from getting run over through a truck. you spot? He ought to easily accept a reward, no longer arrested and given a superb. The regulation develop into made to maintain away from death , he fulfilled the middle of the regulation, no longer the letter of the regulation.

Exactly what I want to know. Is it because we don't accept that our faiths are similar? Is it that we don't want to be intelligent in the intangibility of faith? Is it that we fear knowledge? Is it that we fear we may be wrong? What makes hatred and ignorance among like-minded people of faith? So far, I am working on the thesis that the degree of faith that a person has in their God directly attributes to their fears and concerns about other faiths. It is quite possible that it is the divine design of God that we not agree, ie; the Tower of Babel. It's also quite possible that the phenomenon known as "Fifteen minutes of fame" keeps us apart in a desire to have our particular faith excel others.

because generally its the religious who trade insults about others god and how they worship.
*sigh* hindus are NOT polytheist. they believe in ONE supreme creator, whos many different aspects are represented by various symbolic dieties.
and that is why we never see religions band together: because they dont understand each other and simply refuse to find common ground

Religion doesn't preach ganging up on others who do not believe. Humans verbally assualting each other never gets anyone anywhere. I wouldn't stoop to that level. Let everyone say what they will and don't fight with them.
