There was no such size when I was young. Size 10 was the smallest you could go. Isn't a 12 to 14 slim and lovely and a 16 a lovely voluptious woman? We're obsessed with being fat when we are probably just normal and need to tone up rather than get thin.

I think a size 8 is ok, but size 6 and now this ridiculous size 4 (equivilent of US size 0) is just going too far. I'm a size 12 and am perfectly happy. I wouldn't mind being a 10, but certainly no less, I love my curves too much! Take care : )

Last girlfriend was a 16, current one is an 8. It's not about body size. Saying that, my current girl gets so much grief off larger women. They see the very idea that thin can be appealing as an affront to their existence; like she's letting down 'big-wimmin' by being thin. It's all "accept women the way they are" until you're naturally skinny... then it's "you look anorexic/like a stick insect" etc. Why do such movements push for the acceptance of one group by demonising another? Why does the questioner call a size 8 "too thin" but a 16 "a lovely voluptious woman"? So it's ok to slate slender women but not fuller figures?

size isn't everything, some people are naturally thin and cannot gain weight easily, and they shouldn't be judged as being unhealthy just because they are below a size 10. Surely personality is more important than the width of a woman?

You know this whole business is just a retail hype to undermine young and middle aged and even older women's confidence in themselves. You are perfectly correct. We all know what fat is. It is when you cannot walk upstairs or hills without panting and when it is uncomfortable to bend, There are glorious amazonian women strong in arm and leg who are size 16 and can run marathons. Forget sizes. Just get fit and remember men Like a nice bit of flesh to cuddle.Reminds them of their mums
