The answer is "tomorrow" - by the time the anticipated day rolls along, it becomes "today" and "tomorrow" is the next day along, always one day ahead of you.

Sounds like it could be 'tomorrow', but the line, 'no one ever saw me, nor ever will', is slightly confusing, as I have seen many 'tomorrows', if you know what I mean.
