I understand what you're feeling. I topped out at nearly 300 lbs. last November and was getting very frustrated thinking I was gonna just keep gaining until I couldn't walk any more. Then a few months ago, my doctor diagnosed me with diabetes. That was the proverbial straw that broke the camel's back.

What I realized is that my weight was purely my own fault...I ate too much, the wrong stuff, and didn't exercise at all. I also realized that losing the weight was simple...it involved changing my mindset. It's really all in your attitude! It's all about personal motivation. Look, if I didn't do something about my weight, my blood pressure would continue to rise, my blood sugars would continue to rise, my risk of heart attack would rise, as well as my risk for kidney disease, blindness, stroke, and about every other horrible thing I could think of. Understanding THAT, I decided that no, I didn't want to travel down that path, and yes, it's worth it to me to change my diet, stop eating like a stinkin' pig, and get off my butt and exercise 3-4 times a week. Now that my 'mindset' has changed, it's EASY and to some extent, fun! Sure, I miss the big meals, the candy, the desserts, the 2 liters of coke and mountain dew, but hey, the option was to continue being the way I was, and end up dead.

I KNOW that you can do it too! It's all in the MIND. You must understand and believe that obesity is unhealthy, and realize that it's not only cutting your life short, but making it miserable, just like it was making mine miserable. Once that mindset changes, that a) you can't lose weight and/or b) you don't want to lose weight, THEN you WILL lose it. When it's truly IMPORTANT to you, you will make the necessary changes in your thinking and in your lifestyle to bring about the results. For me, it took being diagnosed with diabetes. DON'T wait that long. Compell yourself to do what's right for YOU. You CAN lose the weight if you really want to, and are willing to try. I'm down 20 lbs in the last two months alone!

I wish you well. Remember...it's all in your mind...how bad you really want it, what you're willing to do to get it. You gotta be motivated, it won't happen by itself....

I myself don't give a darn about what other people think. However, I do know of some people that are a little depressed about their weight. If you would like to lose some weight, a good diet (probably the best for you in the long run) is called "weight watchers." You dont have to do that diet just NEVER DO a low carb diet because they are horrible for you. Never be annerexic or beliemic. The simplist solution is to eat five small meals a day with lots of fruits and vegetables in them and excercise weekly.
I hope you feel better about yourself!

yes lot of people feel that way the problem intensifie with the more overweight you look common depressions include why everyone looks at you or laughs at you and how everybody makes a comment here is the way out do not mind what others say, they have their own problems maybe its more than just how they look good they have a lot of problems just ask them if u are not sure, if u feel guilty about your weight try to reduce it you can do that by exercising regularly just a 30 min walk 4 days a week reduce those great sodas and burgers that you have eat veggies and most of all reduce that mayo or dressing on your buurger feel good about yourself that you can lose weight although it may take time be positive if it helps talk to someone about your problem and let them know how you feel someone you trust they might be able to help you don't worry everyone has a time when they have to fight the bulge it comes and goes take care

I have been fat all my life (and I mean fat); its hard to lose the weight but I am doing it. Get some motiviation. My motivation is my godson and my nieces and nephew. I want to be around for them, so I have hit the exercise bike and my mini-step machine. I have also cut out eating in fast food restaurants completely (its been a long time since I have stepped into McDs), eating more protein and less carbs. Get a friend or a family member who want to lose weight too and work out together. Powerwalk, jump rope, turn the stereo and dance (if the celebrities could do it so can you). Never get discouraged. Good luck.

If you feel that you are fat, here is what you need to do. 1. Go to this website http://exercise.about.com/cs/abs/l/bl_core.htm
2. Buy yourself a yoga ball 3. Get some info about healthy eating http://www.americanheart.org/presenter.jhtml;jsessionid=QYCVK4PWNPHXUCQFCXPSCZQ?identifier=1088
4. EAT RIGHT AND EXERCISE!
Being thin is not NEARLY as important as being HEALTHY. Take care of yourself and you will feel proud because you are healthy and fit and SURPRISE! You will maintain a healthy weight! You do not necessarily have to work out with a yoga ball either. Just Google exercise and you will find all kinds of things. I work out 3times a week in my room with my ball. I watch what I eat and NO...I never feel fat!

i am too, sweetie. i was 115 lbs when I graduated highschool. I didn't mind so much the 20-25 I gained in college, but when I went to grad school, I gained another 40 which REALLY depresses me. I just started a new diet today. Nothing set, just trying to eat better, taking supplements and walking each day.

If you want a motivative partner, I'm your girl, just email me!!! My name is Emily.

First it's hard to tell you if you are overweight or not if we don't know your height and current weight. If you are unhappy the best thing to do is eat right and exercise. Go to a MD or dietitian to find out the appropriate weight for your age, height and build.

Yep, not fat yet, but see myself being able to go there, so have cut out pop, and a lot of junk stuff. It is very depressing, A person has to nip it in the bud before it gets out of control, and it slepts upon you very fast.
