I do and I make up songs about them too. Like Zeke the german shepherd, I sing in the tune of "she's a very freaky girl, but instead he's a very freaky boy." Or jeepers creepers, only it's freaky zekie - then I make up a verse for him, Alexei and Zoie, and all the rest of the zoo. Talking or singing to them gets them almost as excited as walking in the door or picking up a frisbee.
If I talk to Zoie a lot she will tilt her head and start opening and closing her mouth like she has something important to say. She's very cute when she does that.

LOL I always talk to my pets, I have 4 cats and a Rotti. They listen to me and then will give me kisses when I'm done. But I dont know if the kisses are them saying Thank Goodness she finally shut up, or because they just love thier Mom.

I do all the time, he is the only one who listens, does not judge and is always there. A lot of time I am look for a shoulder to cry on or a sounding board and do not want hear a lot of nonsense that people tend to give. There is no better listener a live.

People who love their pets do. I certainly do and like someone else stated, you can learn a lot from them just like they can from you. They know how to react to tones and the way we make sounds. They are by far very intelligent depending on the type of pet. I know they certainly feel our pain and grief when we express it in front of them. Pets are very, very bright!

I talk to my pets all the time. I have a dog and a cat. The cat loves to cuddle, so that is my down time and the dog loves to give me affection.

I talk to all my pets. I have some really calm pets so there sooooooooooooooooo easy to tell anything to! There like mini, free, cute, therapists.....with paws!

Them critters are closer to God than us,just like a master or a slave or freind, we can choice what we are to them, They cant and depend on our love and help to get em through life.Talk to em and yer talking to the Lord God.They know it and you will too.

lol! i dont sit and have a conversation with my cat and dog about the weather or anything, but they understand certain words. like if i say Treat, they know what that means. Toy, sit, high-five!, shake, my dog knows those commands. she knows 'good girl' and 'bad girl', the cat isn't as bright

Oh me, I talk to her like a human. My boyfriend thinks I have totally lost it! She even nods her head now.

I talk to my cats all the time - I can't imagine not doing so, especially as I live alone. I'll only worry if I start hearing them talk back!
