a company I have never heard of with a company called National Arbitration Forum. Never received a notice to appear, but had received something months ago from this company saying they were going to take action. I tried calling them, but couldn't get a live person. I thought it was a scam, because the voice mail wanted my phone number & social security number, which I was reluctant to give without knowing what is was about. The amount was for considerably less than is now showing on the award letter, also, they state I agreed in January to have it arbitrated, which I NEVER did. Heck, I don't even know what this about. Can anyone help me? The letter is dated August 23 2006, but I just recieved it. The company information gives a phone number, again, no live person to talk to, they want your phone number to call you back, which I don't want to give, without more info. Anybody know whats going on & what I should do? I own my own home, have no job, no credit & can't pay this.HELP

Contact an attorney for advice. Most will give you a free consult. If you have NEVER had any credit cards or loans, then I would assume it's a scam. If it is a court issue, the presiding court would be listed on the letter. If there is not another way to identify them, I wouldn't worry about it.
