yes me and my ex husband carved our initials into a special tree by a rambling river in the middle of a forest where we went together often and once we had a picnic at night there...very romantic but we're not together anymore,we split 2 years ago but the memories of doing this are still sweet i guess,lol

Worse than that - one of my exes took me to a national monument, which has underground passages - got me to climb into a tunnel half-way up the wall and at the end of this tunnel next to an arrow firing position showed me he had carved our names and a heart into the wall.
He married someone else, I was rather horrified and still am - never told anyone before now. I think it was vandalism - even though it was romantic.

When I was 18 I did when I came back from my holidays one year! 'Sigh' he was a lovely Irish boy with flame red hair - I think it sounded the death knell for the relationship by doing that, we didn't last long afterwards. We wote and I went back to see him but alas It wasn't to be!! At the time it felt like my heart was going to burst, it ached like crazy but I so got over him in the end!!

Not a lover but I have carved the name of a friend who passed away. I wrote in memory of... And then his name.
That tree will be his forever.

Yes. When i was younger i did it with my first sweet heart. Thinking back you make me wonder if it is still there? Better than a tattoo i suppose. My mate still has his old girl friends name on his arm that he did with a compass and ink. Very faint but its there. the plonker!

Hi i would love to as it does sound very romantic but now adays its classed as vandleism and you can guarantee you will get cought and probably fined. They suck the fun out of everything now a days.

there's tooooo many curvy letters in our names,
but got round the carving thing, used a lable making machine and glued it on.
