You're entering the topic of sovereignty here.
Who's the boss, the king, the shah.
In Christianity, Jesus is the "Head" and the "eklesia" (true believers) are the "body".
Jesus made it very Very VERY clear that the one who is servant among believers is the greater, and the ones who would have positions of pre-eminence are the least of all.
In a true Christian gathering, those who are up front are often the ones who are regarded least by Christ Himself.
The law of God, by the way, is what makes us all equal. The law of God establishes rights. Think about it . . .
The law "thou shalt not kill" gives everyone the right to life.
"thou shalt not steal" gives us the right to property ownership.
"thou shalt not bear false witness" gives us the right to a fair trial.
You get the idea. Everybody is subject to Christ, the Head, and we all are equals.
TRUE Christianity is different from the fraudulent christianity prevelant today. A true Christian fellowship may have order and rules, but nobody has biblical authority to lord it over anyone else.
In this regard TRUE Christianity differs from many other religions.

Nope! Religion stems fror man's desire to believe that there's a higher power who can help when he needs help and who can set guidlines for when he needs them, or organized religion just wouldn't have any influence over men. If you phrased your question using the word "organized" between all and religion(s), I might agree with you. Who wants to believe that you are born, live your life and then die and that's the end of it? If that were the case then we'd all just do as we damn well please and the heck with everyone else. By believing in a higher power we believe that there's someone out there somewhere who will judge us and reward us for being good and kind, or punish us for being bad and unkind. having said all that, I'm one of the believers. I just figure that what goes on between my God and me is my business (and his) and no one elses. You can choose to believe, or you can choose to not believe. Either way, it doesn't make you a bad person.

Your assessment is absolutely right. Religion is a cultural invention designed to do two things. First, it helped primitive man to understand his world and his place in it. Secondly, religion IS a social construct to control human behavior.

How does worshipping mother earth control other humans?
Actually Buddhism makes no pretense of trying to control others, nor does Celtic/Gaelic Paganism.

Yes you are right, in most religions it's a cult, they are controlling others to their ways and their false beliefs, each religion except for Christianity ( which is accepting Jesus Christ as your personal savior and believing in Him) is wrong and no matter what they say you will go to hell if you haven't accepted Christ as your savior, it's as simple as that. In every religion they say that it is the only religion and is the true way but you can always find a loop hole. Try finding a loop hole (that's not made up) in Christianity.<><

Tell you what, you believe what you want to believe, and I won't pass judgment on it, if you afford me the same courtesy. From the wording of your question, it seems like you will take all but a "yes" answer with a grain of salt.

That is part of the differnce between practiced by many Christianity (in the U.S currently.)and scriptural Christianity. Scriptural Christianity renders control to Jesus, rather than going by man's approach.

Yup -- it takes some people a while to figure it out. Buddhism doesn't control others, nor do some of the others, so you can't actually say they all do.

if you see it that way. i don't, but it's not to be disclaimed, i haven't really thought of it like that, not that concept. i have thought it was more a way for organizational manipulation, and as these are run by other humans, i now can see your point. i myself, i just want to be Christ like.
God bless us all...
