Oh my gosh I get nauseated just having a mint with fake sugar in it. I have tried splenda and all the other ones and they all taste like crap! Oh and do have warning labels on them! There is one other substitute called Stevia. (can find it at Health Food Stores). It is actually an Herb and not man made!!! You can read about it on stevia.net (sorry if you already know about it!) I do use honey and sugar I just eat less of it. I know that there are some people that medically cannot so I guess if you have to I would try Stevia.

A lot of people are sensitive to artificial sweeteners, either the aftertaste bothers them, they make them have headaches,or they get nauseous. It is just a message being sent by mother nature , to remind us that anything synthetic and manmade is bad for you. If you aren't diabetic, then as a sweetener,I would use honey in tea or lemonade or any drink. In foods as well as honey, you can use jams, jellies, in cakes ,applesauce and this will cut down on using oil in the cake and make it moist at the same time.
