I need to lose 80 pounds. A month ago I started on an execise program but I am not sure if my results are what they should be. Please tell me what you think.

I do 45 minutes of aerobics at about 75% capacity 6 days a week.

So far I have lost 15 pounds, but I am slowing down.

Also I am on restricted calories and I am drinking 64 oz or more of water per day. I am female.

How fast will I lose this weight?

When you first start you will lose a lot (most of it is water weight). You may gain a lil back over time. The more weight you have to get rid of the more you will lose. If you have 80 lbs to lose you will lose more at the begining. As that number goes down it will be harder and take more time. You cant just say I will lose 10 lbs a month for 8 months because when you get down to 20 or 10 lbs you may only be able to get rid of a poud or 2.

It's normal for weight loss to slow down, it'll continue though. Drink plenty of water!! And my doctor told me a healthy amount to lose it 2 1/2 to 3 pounds per week.

Your body has a way of taking care of itself.

As you lose weight, the body needs to take a moment to adjust to the new changes. This "Moment" can be a short time or can last awhile. It is called a Plateau or Leveling-off.

Just continue with your program and don't get discouraged (a lot of people do). Eventually, when your body is ready....it will resume the weight loss.

Generally they say that you shouldn't lose or gain more than 10% of your starting weight in one year's time. If you are under medical supervision it's a different story. But this sounds like a question that should be asked of a competent licensed medical professional.

a healthy weight loss is between 3-5 pounds a week just dont do anything like skiping meals because that actually slows the weightloss process down because your metabolism is jumping. but you should definatly stick to your plan and keep working hard!!

2lbs per week is average. You lose a TON at first which is all water.
