you are going to hell and condemning your son to hell also, he'll find out on his own soon. 1 Corinthians 6:9

First off, he's not going to understand most anything you tell him, as he will not even begin developing conceptual thought process until puberty. So, just teach him what he needs to know and work on the understanding part when he's ready for it.

You need to remember that there are no passages in the oldest Biblical scrolls that translates as hell or hell fire. It is simply the grave, where Christ went when he died, and from which he could do nothing until he was resurrected as a spirit being. When people die, they simply sleep in the grave until the first or second resurrection.

Take him to a Jehovah's Witness meeting on Sunday. You will find that they will not condemn you for your life style. Ultimately, it is your choice to express the feelings that you were born with, just like the other sexual orientations, though two of them are forbidden by law to express or act on their feelings. They face long jail terms if they do.

Until he's of the age of understanding, your choices decide his future, not his. That is the way it always has been in the Bible.

Just remember, in picking the religion for you and your son, the right church is not simply the one that accepts your life style, but the one that lives by all the teachings of Christ, and not just the ones they find convenient. Everyone in the church should have a thorough knowledge of the Bible, and not just the elite. Even 13-year-old children, should be able to conduct Bible studies, because they have been taught the Bible as a whole, and not just Bible stories in Sunday school.

Christ never taught that homosexuality was alright. Therefore, I am afraid that any church you find that accepts your chosen walk will not be of the CHRISTian faith.

There are, however, many man-made organizations that have chosen to call themselves Christians and alter the truth of what Jesus Christ taught. They may wrap themselves in the cloak of CHRISTianity, but they are merely what ever they are, believing in something all together different than what Christ taught.

Here is the deal, you have been given free will. I as a follower of Christ must leave you with your free will to choose Christ or choose something other than Him.

Since it seems from what you have said that you don't want to follow Jesus, then that has to be ok with me and anyone else, though I will admit that it does make me personally sad for you and those you love.

In spite, I am sure that the world will have something to offer you. The world always has a lot to offer to a person that chooses to live in the world and be a part of it. If you still can't find something that suits your own personal will and your own desires, then you are certainly free to start your own faith and gain your own following. That is always an option too.

May I still pray that the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob continue to bless you with great blessings and may you one day find the peace and love that you are looking for within the confines of Jesus Christ and all He represents and has taught.

No one has the right to tell someone else that they are going to hell. Please don't take offense at this: I am against homosexuality because of my religion, but I do not discriminate against homosexuals. From what I understand, one is born homosexual and does not choose to be by choice.
I'm sure there is a church that does not persecute people like you. Since many think homosexuality is a sin, they should want to reach out and help and support people like you.
I'll pray that God guides you... Best of luck :)

I applause you for wanting him to make the choice for as religion and there are great churches out there that don't discriminate and it depends on where you live. Obviously, The Church, you went to knew ur lifestyle. You may need to make some adjustment to help him choose whats right for him. Please tell him what you know is true. The truth will make you free. He deserves it or tell him the "Big Topic Religion" is not up for discussion until he is mature enough to understand our society and ur lifestyle. God Bless.

I don't know of any christian church that won't discriminate. If you want to remain christian, be sure to tell your son that there are people who don't view your lifestyle in a good light, but it is important that he knows that you love him and that these people are not right in their hate. As a Catholic, I am taught to hate the sin and not the sinner, but some people can't sepperate the two. Actually, I just don't like hating anyone.

Or, you can just not go to church and teach your son on your own and let him make up his mind.

I think it's very poor form to go on a search like this to find a church that accepts you. It's like you're searching for a loophole in the system to fit in with the majority. Why can't you just teach him on your own? That way you can teach him about faith rather than having someone else teach him about the politics of religion. If you really care about your faith, you should know enough to teach it.

I know there are denominations that welcome homosexual behavior, as well as individual church communities. I would guess the Episcopal Church might be one of those, considering they ordain open homosexuals.

Unfortunately, it appears your desire to give him the option of choice is to offer only choices that validate your current lifestyle. I am not saying this is unusual, but it might mean that you have a problem in the future if he makes a different choice for worship.

It is my understanding that this is a church that accepts everyone.

I am assuming you are looking for a Christianity type belief system.

Don't feel bad, your negative experience is not unique. When my brother died in infancy a Baptist Minister told my mother that SHE must have sinned against God for him to take her child away from her like that.

Yes, the Unitarian Universalist church is for people of all positive faiths, and they even have gay ministers! If you find their website, there is a testimony on there from a gay minister about her experience with the church. A friend bugged her and bugged her to go, and she knew that people were going to hate her anyway, so she spiked her hair up and wore a lot of leather and went dressed as outlandish and butch as possible, but they welcomed her anyway. Eventually she studied and became a minister for them. Unitarian Universalism is awesome, if they have a church near you. If not, it's possible for you to start your own meetings with their help and maybe have a church eventually.

What that pastor did was WRONG, period.

What you are asking is if there is a place where man has changed Gods word enough to allow you to disobey him and still feel as if you are doing what is right by him.

Sadly, these places do exist everywhere.
Sadly what you hear will not be the truth, so there is really no reason to go at all.
There is more damage if you raise your children to learn lies , than raising them to know the truth, no matter how hard it is and how it reflects on you.
