The boiling water is plenty enough.

Sure can.
Flip the lobster over on his back
Stick the point of your chefs knife at the spot on the mid line where the thorax meets tail
Swiftly cut down between the legs and mandibles
Cut in the opposite direction through the tail
With thumbs under and fingers over ,crack open the lobster
Behind the mandibles is a sac the diameter nickel- the stomach
remove and toss out
In the cavity is gooey green stufff- the liver and possibly some pinkish stuff - roe
Either toss out or reserve for sauces
Brush lobster w/ melted butter and grill. broil or bake

I suppose you could rinse it under cold water, but as you know, you cook a lobster while it is still alive. You boil them alive. It is cruel ,but if they are already dead they aren't fit to eat. And boiling them is going to sterilize them enough to kill germs if that concerns you. If it is a matter of the water you are getting them from , not being clean, then don't eat them.

Some people remove the tamale, some people eat it. That's it for cleaning lobsters, as far as I know.

The boiling water will take care of any "cleaning". Don't waste your efforts on that,,, save it for eating!!!!!

Gee Tom...I don't think you need to clean them....I never do...If you feel you need to, bring them home in water you catch them in....anything else will kill them.....before you get a chance to...lol
Good luck:)
