well im from london and its nothing like that. I live in southeast tho but still. They gto 2 the crap pub and no1 has a washing machine. And in some way they all seem to be related to each other

I am from North London and the live round the corner from Phil Mitch, who is really posh, anyway of course there are a lot people in London like those in Eastender and fortunately my local pub is worse then the queen Vic but it's like one big family and we have a laugh... if you where having a crap day you could go there on your own and there would always be someone to talk to.. scruffy well I do admit i do have those days but tracky bottoms are comfy other then those off days I think we dress pretty good and I paid £150.00 for my last haircut so don't think that's hard up... London is pukka.. being a north Londoner is even better we have all the old school ways but look the part...so that's all thanks for havin a butchers at my answer and ur having a bubble about Eastenders for they ain't all scruffy and hard up... sweeeeeeeet

Eastenders despite what people think of them are very proud,kind and hospitable folk. And are very clean despite not having all of lifes luxuries they always make the best of what they have. And londoners surly It's all an act. If you want surly try Lincolnshire ..they invented the word.

No Eastenders is not true to life. Its a tv programme and therefore fantasy trying to portray real life. Like Corrie and some others, it plays on the generalisation of certain areas and plays on them.

of course Eastenders isn't true to life... its a soap, soaps are not realistic... not one person I know from London is anything like any of the characters on Eastenders
