"FIGHTING IS PRESCRIBED FOR YOU (muslims), and ye dislike it. But it is possible that ye dislike a thing which is good for you, and that ye love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knoweth, and ye know not." http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/quran/002.qmt.html#002.216

This is a serious question. I have studied Islam in great depth, but dont pretend to know all religions as well.

To the best of my research, Islam appears to be the only religion, which has PRESENT TENSE COMMANDS and PRESCRIPTIONS (DUTIES) to fight and murder. Others to consider:

“FIGHT (Jihad) THOSE WHO BELIEVE NOT IN ALLAH” http://cwis.usc.edu/dept/MSA/quran/009.qmt.html

“And FIGHT with them UNTIL...RELIGION SHOULD BE ONLY FOR ALLAH"http://cwis.usc.edu/dept/MSA/quran/008.qmt.htmlhttp://cwis.usc.edu/dept/MSA/quran/008.qmt.html

If you dont know what I mean by "present tense" or havent studied other religions in depth, please dont answer. I invite experts of any political view to paste similar edicts.

I have studied various religious texts but I am not a scholar. You seem to know the verses from the Qur'an that mandate killing. The present tense imperative mood as used in English grammar is not quite the same in other languages if that is what you mean by "present tense".

Others have given you examples from the Bible.

Here is an example from the Sikh scriptures Sri Guru Granth Sahib
jo sir saaN-ee naa nivai so sir deejai daar.
Chop off that head which does not bow to the Lord.
Chaktha/Jhatkha - "To kill with one blow". Traditional method employed by the Akali Nihang Singh Khalsa to kill enemies and also used to kill animals for food. Killing is done using a variety of methods, from guns to swords.

How about in the Bible? "Tho shalt not suffer a witch to live." It's in Isaiah I think. Although the passage is mistranslated and doesn't mean a Pagan person, it nevertheless instructs death to the people to whom it is intended.

From Exodus

21:15 And he that smiteth his father, or his mother, shall be surely put to death.

21:17 And he that curseth his father, or his mother, shall surely be put to death.

You're a scholar?

The bible is full of them:

And if a man lie with his daughter in law, both of them shall surely be put to death.--Lev.20:12

Exodus:

He that smiteth his father, or his mother, shall be surely put to death.--21:15

Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.--22:18

Leviticus:

For every one that curseth his father or his mother shall be surely put to death.--20:9

And if a man lie with his daughter in law, both of them shall surely be put to death.--20:12

If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.--20:13

If a man take a wife and her mother, it is wickedness: they shall be burnt with fire, both he and they.--20:14

If a man lie with a beast, he shall surely be put to death: and ye shall slay the beast.--20:15

If a woman approach unto any beast, and lie down thereto thou shalt kill the woman, and the beast: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.--20:16

A man also or woman that hath a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard, shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones: their blood shall be upon them.--20:27

And the daughter of any priest, if she profane herself by playing the whore, she profaneth her father: she shall be burnt with fire.--21:9

Bring forth him that hath cursed without the camp; and let all that heard him lay their hands upon his head, and let all the congregation stone him.--24:14

He that blasphemeth the name of the LORD, he shall surely be put to death, and all the congregation shall certainly stone him.--24:16

Deuteronomy:

But if this thing be true, and the tokens of virginity be not found for the damsel: Then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die.--22:20-21

If a man be found lying with a woman married to an husband, then they shall both of them die.--22:22

If a damsel that is a virgin be betrothed unto an husband, and a man find her in the city, and lie with her; Then ye shall bring them both out unto the gate of that city, and ye shall stone them with stones that they die; the damsel, because she cried not, being in the city.--22:23-24

I am sure there are a lot more but these are the obvious ones.

CPCFC here...yeah steve, sorry to say it, but the bible is also full of that sh*t. just check out deuteronomy. but at least westerners have the rational thought capacity that allows us to "ignore" such things...the way i see it, any faith-based religion is evil.
