If ilegal is ilegal why is this happening?

There are no undocumented (or illegal) aliens in the military. All aliens in the military are registered and legal residents. The only exceptions are those from the Canal Zone and US Territories.

Illegal aliens would not be able to pass the NAC, which is performed on all IET's. Were they able to fool the various Recruiting Commands, they would get caught before they completed their initial training.

Zero, none...not even if they are using counterfeit passports of exceptional quality. I am guessing that you have never been in the service or you would know how rigorous the verification process is.

The military goes to extensive lengths to verify people's identities since 9/11.

Years ago a copy of your birth certificate or a state issued driver's license was about all it took to join. And every now and then people (documented or not and citizens joining with false IDs) got pass the screening process. If their MOS required a security clearance they were later discovered as having joined illegally and were kicked out.

TO7am gang.... I hope you mean legal immigrants are allowed to join and serve in Iraq. And yes,I was in Iraq for 18 months and attended 3 ceremonies at Camp Liberty where legal immigrants were worn in as new US citizens.

First of all, they are not illegal aliens or undocumented immigrants. You need to get your facts straight before talking my friend. They are green card holders (permanent resident), who decided to enroll in the military cause they love this country and want to serve it. Finally, the government realized this and made many of these military personal US citizens. Did you know the first casualty in this war in Iraq was a Mexican (permanent resident) made US citizen after his death. Here is another fact, did you know that the Hispanic race for those that are/were in the military have been awarded the most medals/ribbons in military history. I served in Operation Desert Storm back in 91/92 and I am proud I served with many persons who were not US citizens and would gladly serve with them again cause they defended our cause in the war as well as having each others back during fire fights. We have these punks (US born) running the street causing trouble instead of being in the military serving their country. We have the Permanent resident of many countries defending our country instead of these punks, now ain't that a shame? Remember "Never ask what your country can do for your, ask what you can do for your country". I bet your monkey @ss has never been in the military, but yet you are bitching about others in the military, get a life!! MSMC, SEMPER FI

Not as many as you think I would bet. But if they are in the country illegally, I doubt they are out bragging about it on base. I have heard of only one and he was a Marine, who being wounded in action, then found out, was given fast track citizenship. If illegals want to come here, maybe we need recruiting stations in Mexico city and a few other non-USA cities.
