Binky is all I've heard. Pacifier is "Friedensstifter" in German but I don't think alot of kids could say that :-) Actually, I remember calling it "sockinit" because my parents would always hand it to me when I was crying and say "Put a sock in it would ya?!"

My first child didn't take a pacifier, my second didn't want it after 6 months and my third wouldn't take one. So I guess I was fortunate to not have to "break" them of using one. And two yr olds shouldn't have these, it will ruin their teeth and the older they are the harder it is to break them from these horrible habbits.

I call it a "nuk" or "buddy nuk". That's just about it. I don't know why.
My son is seven months. He doesn't talk yet. That's what we call his nuk for goodness sake!
I understand the point you were trying to make...it's not about what people are doing. Merely what people call the darn thing! I'm so sorry you got blasted with so many horrible responses!

A two year old with a pacifier? The sight of that would bother me. These kids need to be taken OFF pacifiers. Forget naming them, throw them out.

My older son called his "Beeky." He was trying to say "Binky", but it came out wrong, so Beeky stuck.
