Mines is acting like I can't think for myself. If I'm involved with something and she asks what it is and I tell her, she'll offer to help and then end up taking over. She's done it since I was a kid and I'm 20 now. CUT THE CORD, FOR GOD SAKE!!!! That's the reason why I don't tell her certain things. Stilll love her, though. What about you?

Running Girl, I agree with you on that. I did the same thing, hoping it would end. My Mom just happens to live around the corner.

everytime im on a date she calls (without even knowing im on a date) during the more physical parts of the date and screws me up(its like she's physic)! Also I visited her yesterday and when we were driving home from dinner, she got really angry when I honked at someone going 20 in a 45mph zone. She also needs to cut the cord.

When I was a kid I hated asking them why and they would say "Because I said so"... no other explanation... just "because I said so"

Now being a step-parent I do the same thing sometimes.

My mom was that way. Then I got a job, moved out to my own place, and started paying my own bills and taking responsibility for my own life, and that was the end of that.
