You may have a chemical imbalance.
My exgirlfriend suffered from anxiety and depression. I no pro but I told her she was bi-polar. After we split she got checked out and found out it was her birth control pill that was affecting her.

Because you are not a patient in my office it really is impossible to give you a DX., after reading your indepth question.

You could have major depression, bipolar, manic depressive, psychotic, or just in need of anger management.

For one thing you are aware of your problem and have the ability to express your feelings. So that is a great start in itself.

Plus you are taking steps to move out of your situation.

Having said the postive steps that you are taking which I consider very good, I would like to give you some professional advise.

You state that you are going to see a "Psychiatrist in mid October". Make sure that he/she is a Psychiatrist who really cares about you as a person and does not just see you a money making machine.

You want a Psychiatrist that will take the time to hear everything that you wrote and all that you have not written. This is of extreme importance for him/her to make a proper DX.

You don't want a Psychiatrist, who only hears you saying "I am angry or having a bad day" and pulls out thier Rx pad and writes you a prescription for drugs. (You will be hooked as they are habit forming and you will always have to return and pay more money to obtain a Rx for a controlled substance).

You want the Psychiatrist who will say if you have mild depression or anger management problems that they will work with you one-on-one to find out the root cause of the problem. Drugs will only mask the root cause. You will take the drugs feel good, but inside you will still have the trauma.

They need to give you good alternative solutions to your problems and you pick out the one that is the best for you. And they can tell you what is the light at the end of the tunnel.

The same as you are making alternative solutions in what you wrote to help yourself get out of the area that makes you angry.

Wish you all the best.

Hang in there. I've been in a very similar situaltion. I'll bet you can't wait till you see your doc in October. You may have bipolar & maybe it & something more. Relax, you are not alone. In my family we have bipolar people with addiction issues too. Bipolar is a mood disorder. You may just have that, without the addiction illness. Your doctor will be able to help you. Be patient though. Its not like he can just give you a pill & next day you're perfect acting. It will take some time to find out what med is right for you, and how much of a dosage you need. You may need more than one. Find out about any mental health support groups in your area. Start doing the right thing for yourself in the area you are now in. Then you can carry your new, good lifestyle habits to a more suitable location, should you decide to move.
You are not alone in your situation. Some with chemical imbalance of the brain are still out there, undiagnosed & untreated WITHOUT an appointment already set up. They are worse off than you are now & me. Let's sympathize with them, whoever they may be. Remember about hooking up with a support group, and good luck,

I suffer from major depression, but i know many people that suffer from bipolar disorder. you sound like you could suffer from it as well. Your mood can be stabalized with a mood-stabalizer and an anti-anxiety drug! Don't be ashamed to make an appointment with your doc!

Sounds like you are moving in the right direction with your upcoming appointment.

If you feel to stressed out, Please see if they can see you sooner...or go to your local hospital emergency dept.

Our minds have a field day with us sometimes. We imagine all kinds of things that could be.....but most likely, aren't really wrong.
This comes from stress about our situations and any underlying problems we have...(such as you describe).

If you are feeling too anxious ....please go to your local hospital now.

You may have a form of bipolar disorder. However only a doc should make that determination. There is help, but it will require patience.
