People believe she was pregnanct with out any sperm. Back at that time it wouldve been a HUGE sin to be an unwed mother, she couldve been crucified,so why would she be foolish enough to admit to sex out of wedlock? They wouldve called her a whore, but due to lack of knowledge and education, people chose to believe her. If someone today, claimed to be a pregnant virgin, stating they were carrying the son of Jesus, how would that fly?

I guess if this hypothetical mother's son fulfilled all of scripture, performed miracles, rose from the dead and passed on his authority, one might be able to make an argument that her claim might be valid, especially if she was assumed into heaven.

If this were to happen, and you knew this woman, and you knew her claims were true, would you want to know her son?

Peace,

MoP

For starters, I believe in the Blessed Virgin Mary. Secondly, the jews of that time period were raised on the belief that the messaih would come. Girls of that time wanted to be the mother of God, but He chose Mary because she led a sinless life, devoted to Him. She accepted Him in her life without question and when He sent his angel to announce that she was to be the mother of his son, she answered, "Yes". God also sent an angel to Joseph, otherwise he would have broken the engagement and when it would be discovered she was pregnant, she would have been stoned.

>she couldve been crucified,

Not likely; rather, stoned.
Or have been quietly "divorced".

People of Galilee seems to believe that Joseph was Christ's father; so people didn't all believe Mary.

And don't suppose the people had a "lack of knowledge and education" ...

Joseph even had his doubts until the Angel Gabriel appeared to him and confirmed Mary's story.
