There is a girl that I like and she works out at the same gym as I, and she is always there in the mornings when I am there. We've only said Hi and good morning to each other, but that's been the extent of our contact. She is very beautiful and appears very nice and down to earth. How would I pull her from her workout partner (whom I believe is her mom) and strike up a conversation with her that will go further then a weather topic?

Maybe you would be better off to strike up a conversation with the mom, that would be considered harmless. Maybe tell her something like you think it is great that they workout together get an in with mom and there is your in with daughter.

You could try giving pointers as a starting point. Try to help her or her mom with weights. Get a few extra towels and offer some to them if you see they don't have any (with the excuse that you weren't paying attention and grabbed a couple extra towels by accident). I'm not saying that you'll sit down and have coffee that same day, but at least you'll be gradually making your way 'in'. Good luck!

How about the next time you see her, walk up to her and confidently say "when can you and I make it over to Starbucks and talk over a nice coffee? She will either accept if she is interested or say sorry. Either way you win. Just be sure that if she turns down the offer to be very polite and thank her, letting her know the offer stands open anytime. Good luck to ya!!! GaryT

Just tell her that you notice that she works out a lot, and ask her advice on something.. such as cardio, weights, or both.. tell her you needed to know for your mom or something, and since you are a guy you were wondering which would benefit your mom more. Its a little fib maybe, but it will get the conversation going.

I guess u just have to have the guts to go up and TALK.
What Name?!?! Where From!??! There's so many questions or things to say.
If u like her, dun feel ""SHY"".
I think its kinda good if that's her MUM. Letting a mum to know who her daughter's hanging out with. that's a good thing u know.
But just watch out for your appearance, the way u talk.

No bad impression ... especially her mum..@@
u know... mum are picky... i think

talk to both and little by little show her partner(mom) that you are a good person and easy to get along with some times we need moms approval first. or just ask to talk to her.
