The hair on different parts of your body have different life cycle ( it is shed and replaced at different speeds). The hair in your eyebrows and eyelashes are classed as supercillia, and have a life cycle of 5-7 weeks. The hair on your head is in a different classification, with a life cycle of approximately 7 years. If you let your hair grow for 7 years without cutting it you would find it would reach its maximum length and it would seem to stop getting longer. The hair under your arms has a life cycle of 4 months so it doesn't have enough time to get much longer than about 2". Hope this answers your question

If the hair is growing that long on your head that fast I would advise this:

Wait till your hair grows 20 inches (starting at forehead). Then put hair in a pony tail and cut of 10 inches. Give this to Lock of Love, a company that makes wigs for people diagnosed with cancer. You could become a sort of sponcer and help with many childrens self esteem! There is more information beow and I truely hope that you think about it!

I saw on a forensics show the other day that the average hair growth is 1 centimeter a month. Doesn't seem possible since I have my hair cut every 5-6 weeks. You'd think it would be more.

well your hair will stop growing if your getting it cut every 2 weeks. you have to wait at least 8 weeks or your hair won't recover. but it can be ok for up to four months with out a cut. seriously your just wasting money.

I think it grows at a certain rate until a certain age...I believe until your mid 60s. I have to get mine cut twice a month as well. I have really thick and curly hair so it can get really messy if I don't get it cut. =) In fact I have a hair cut appt this Saturday so i'm looking forward to it...really needs a trim bad.....woohoo! I keep my hair cut short so you can really tell on mine lol.

even if you want your hair to grown you should get a trim every 2 months just to get rid of the dead ends.
