One of the weaknesses of the Z650 is "Lack of image stabilization limits use of long end of zoom to bright scenes"

What that means is that you'll need a tripod when you zoom at (or near) the maximum of 380mm.

With a 10X optical zoom you really can reach out and touch someone with this camera. But there is a down side to this ability. Zoom magnifies any camera shake you might have. A lot of people really punch the shutter button when they make a photo. You really need to "squeeze" the button to reduce the shake. If you are shooting on automatic the camera might also lower the shutter speed to get a correct exposure. This can really be a problem. I don't know if the camera has a "Sports" mode but try that. It should place a priority on a faster shutter speed. If it doesn't (let's say that the normal lens is 35mm in length...then set your shutter speed no slower than 350th of a second when you're at 10X. (PS forget the optical zoom....it is photo spin and really degrades the image when used) If you are doing sports photos like soccer you might also try a mono pod to steady the lens when zoomed...they don't cost too much. I use one all the time for sports.

The problem is that when you zoom on a distant image it also magnifies any shaking that happens while you are holding the camera/phone. Either zoom a little less or find some way of stabilising the camera whilst taking your shots.
