how many meals are you surposed to eat a day with the south beach diet?I sthere a diet plan?

To keep your metabolism running at its peak you should eat 6 small meals a day. I did say SMALL. Metabolism takes place when food is being digested so give the body food to digest.

Even when not doing South Beach eating a little something every three hours keeps your blood sugar from falling and keeping food low in the Gylcemic Index will keep the peaks and valley's in your blood sugar levels and that is what causes hunger. South Beach basically follows low GI foods.

Just because you are eating more often does not mean you are eating more calories!!!!

It all depends on what phase of South Beach Diet you are on.

I eat non-fat sugarfree yogurt for breakfast with a couple tablespoons of granola.

Mid-day a snack bar

Lunch veggies like tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce and a spritz dressing. I include a lean meat like grilled chicken or water packed tuna.

Mid-day a grapefruit fresh YUM really filling

Dinner grilled white fish, or grilled chicken about 6 ounces, asparagus or brocolli, brown rice or white wheat roll

Evening..100 calories popcorn pack, or non-fat sugar free yogurt healthy choice

Oh and tons of water! And a moderate exercise like a stability ball or a walk.

The South beach diet foods should have information on back of each package but you need to eat three times a day ..

3 meals a day- same as normal. if ya get hungry, try a banana as a snack

just do your regular 3 meals and that is how people stay healthy
