I am going to get alot of turned heads here, and I almost didnt answer this questions, but I figured maybe what I know might be helpful.
After studying medicine and working in my career for about 6 years now, I would say I have some knowledge of this.
Proposed was the question given an option of this (since the question was only stated either one or the other), "is one better then the other?" The answer is Yes. If you were to choice which is better, then it would be bulemia
Ok, before everyone goes running and screaming let me explain.
Both are a mental disorder of appearance, but with anorexia it is actually a more severe mental condition then bulemia. Also, you literally starve yourself and can actually excercise until you pass out. It is an outright disgust with your appearance that you will stop at nothing to fix. You have a great risk also of dying with anorexia due to malnutrition, starvation, organ failure, toxemia, and so on.
As for bulemia, it too is a mental condition, but most bulemic patients are of a normal weight. Also, even though they are always on a diet, they "binge" and "purge". This means the bulemic will eat a TON of food and then by way of inducing vomitting or by abuse of laxatives get the food out of their bodies. Sure this isnt healthy, but the bulemic patient doesnt have the amount of health problems an anorexic patient has, and many times an anorexic patient has to be "trained" to eat again because they have actually programmed their minds and bodies not to eat. This doesnt happen with the bulemic patient.
Both patients have serious problems, but of the question "which one is better?" it would have to be bulemia (if you were to "pick" your eatting disorder you wanted to have)

Well, here are your choices:
You could have Anorexia, and your body will eat away at your organs and muscles, rendering you weak and pathetic looking. The long term effects will be unhealthy, to say the least. You'll permanently ruin your metabolism, making all attempts at a healthy and attractive weight difficult.
OR, you could have bulimia: the acid in your stomach bile will eat away at your throat and tooth enamel on the way up, causing your teeth to rot and eventually fall out, and causing painful ulcers. You'll also ruin your metabolism.
If you are considering either, think long and hard about whether you care about yourself or not. If you do at all, you'll realize that NO ONE is jealous of diseased people with anorexia or any other disorder for that matter. You will be found unattractive and pathetic, because you'll look like death warmed over.

It's better to eat three square meals a day and keep them in your digestive tract until they exit through the designated area.
Which, by the way, is NOT your mouth.
Anorexia and bulimia are serious serious problems. Don't try either! Keep in shape, keep away from the sweets, and KEEP EATING!

Oh, by the way, some studies show that up to 10% of people with eating disorders die from complications, so I guess it's better not to have either.

Why are u asking this question? If you seriously consider one of them or even worse both, I strongly suggest you go and get help - from who ever is the closest to you and you trust. If you want to loose weight there is ONLY one way - eating healthy and exercise - got it. God bless it seems you need it.
This is for "seemonkey" - YOU IDIOT-

Neither!
Anorexia and bulimia lead to serious health problems or death. There are other healthier options.
