My boyf passed his driving test about a month ago, but because we went on holiday straight after him passing, he hasn't managed to send off to replace his provisional for his full license. Does anyone know if there is time limit how long you have to send off for your full license?
We are in the UK by the way.

Well Congratulations to your boyfriend. through my own experience the examiner actually took my provisional license and sent it off for me. I'm confused as too why he kept it or why the examiner didn't explain the process. Mind you i passed on my fourth attempt so maybe just maybe she wanted to make damn sure i would get my full license ASAP. lol

Well don't delay any longer, the sooner the better I say.

When i passed my test, the examiner took my provisional off me and sent a form off to get my full license. It came in the post a few days later and i hadn't had to do a thing! Try the DVLA website.

You have to send off within 2 years or you have to take both tests again.

Looked it up in one of the leaflets I was given after passing, definitely 2 year. If he's unsure he should have a flick through all the leaflets he was give when he passed.

It used to be one year, and when he gets it, it will last til he is 75 yrs, think you will be together by then. Anyway as things change daily, phone the DVLC in Swansea, they are very helpful, once you get through.

I know it used to be two years but not sure what it is now.

It should say somewhere on the paperwork how long you've got.
