What do you mean by ‘one true religion’ – a religion that professes a belief in one Supreme Being; or do you mean the world’s oldest religion?
The oldest living religion is Hinduism. Its accepted age is roughly 4500 years. It is polytheistic on the surface, but it is united by one supreme source of the universe.
The big three monotheistic religions today are Christianity, Islam and Judaism. The oldest of these is Judaism, which doesn’t have a scientific date of origin.
Zoroastrianism, on the other hand, is very rare. It’s a Persian dualistic religion (one God, but a universe with equal parts good and equal parts evil).
Even the polytheistic ancient Egyptians were in a way monotheistic. Amun-Ra, the Sun God, was a supreme God amongst gods.
Humankind’s oldest religions ever did not have a concept of ‘one true God’. Prehistoric man worshiped nature, their ancestors and even Goddess.
Go pick up the scriptures of the religions I mentioned and see for yourself what you deem to be true. Read: the Tanakh, the Bible, the Quran, the Avesta, the Upanishads and the Book of the Dead. Don’t just look at the religious worshipers; look at their inspired source.

Well, if anyone knows that they are something else!! The problem with this question is that all of the answers will stem from people's personal beliefs(and/or brainwashing) and not from any true knowledge. Factually speaking, the earth was here before religion was.

True according to who. The answer depends on who you ask.
My first premise in faith is that I don't know everything. I leave the knowing up to God. If you don't believe in that statement, it's a free country and you have a right to your opinion. In fact, you're not alone. A lot of people think they know everything. Just look around.

Ask the Native Americans, the Aborigines in Australia, the Indians in the Amazon, or the shamans of Siberia. They will tell you.

most religions began as fictitious or as an exaggeration. They are the stuff of myths, but people need them as we "cannot survive" on our own.
There is no one true religion. It is about how you perceive the world and creation.

All religions are true religions.
Only one religion gets you into heaven. That religion, called Christianity, is actually a way of life and believing in the person of Jesus and not in religion at all.

Islam.
One day, a man of arms (Muhammad) started getting visits from an angel...he wasnt high or anything...i mean, thats what he claims, and he alone, so who are we to argue?
Anyway, so Muhammad, not under the influence of hash or opium, got visits from an angel...then told people that he was the last and final of the last and final prophets.
So, he this angel visited him ...ohh...like whenever Muhammad felt inspired...I mean....he visited him daily and over many years, piecemealed the quran to him.
Pooof....Islam was born...

I don't know that the answer is in religion. It is in belief in God, not in the framework that man has set up for belief in him.
