Here is a tried, tested and proven regimen:
1. Eat breakfast every day within 90 minutes of waking -- people who don't are 450% more likely to be overweight. Force yourself to eat if you need to, but you don't have to eat much (see the next point:)
2. Eat six small meals per day instead of three squares per day. Eating less at mealtimes but more often keeps your metabolism running high, and eating big meals isn't good for you because any excess calories your body can't use are stored as fat.
3. The following foods and drinks are your enemies and should be avoided as much as possible:
-- Fast food
-- Junk food
-- Soft drinks
-- Fruit juices/drinks that aren't 100% juice
-- Anything with high fructose corn syrup
-- Anything with partially or fully hydrogenated oils
-- Refined flour/sugar
-- Saturated fat
4. The following foods are weight-loss friendly:
-- Water
-- Green tea and black pekoe tea, home brewed
-- Nuts (any kind, almonds are best)
-- Beans/Legumes
-- Green vegetables (spinach and broccoli top the list)
-- Lowfat dairy products
-- Eggs
-- Lean meats (especially fish and poultry)
-- Whole grain breads/cereals/pasta
-- Fresh fruits (anything that ends in "berry" is a winner)
5. Take a tablespoonful of olive oil three times a day. Olive oil is high in monounsaturated fat, which is needed to metabolize certain vitamins and to keep your cholesterol levels where they need to be. Plus, it's a natural appetite suppressant.
6. Go high fiber. Fiber fills you up and helps your body metabolize the "bad" cholesterol. Try to get at least 25 grams of fiber into your diet every day.
7. For half a day, once a week, chuck all the rules and eat whatever you want. Just don't gorge yourself.
8. Do SOME type of exercise every day, even if it's just a 15-minute walk. You don't need to be gasping for breath when you exercise, but you need to get your heart going. Don't try to monitor your heart rate -- just get your heart rate up but don't get to the point where you can't carry on a normal conversation because you're breathing too hard. Start off with walking or some other low-impact exercise, and don't do aerobic exercise for more than 30-40 minutes at a time -- any more than that and you risk burning muscle. As you progress, add more "intense" cardio like jogging, cycling, swimming, kick-boxing; whatever you like.
Good luck!

I am doing 1200 calories a day with a good multivitamin (not eating after 7:30pm) and walking on the treadmill with a fat-burning program for at least 45 minutes a day (the earlier the better) . I have lost 11 lbs. in a couple weeks (mostly water weight but still reassuring nonetheless!) I am hoping to lose 100 lbs. but not too quickly as to be unhealthy. I am doing a Biggest Loser contest at the local health club, so I am on a team with three other women. It helps that I am trying my best not to let them down. I am coming to terms with the fact that I had to make a lifestyle change as opposed to a diet. You just have to lower your calories and exercise regularly. When you get to your desired wight you can go back up on your calories until you find an amount that keeps you at the weight you want to stay at. Good Luck!

I don't mean to sound too harsh, but there is a simple formula involved here: When caloric output exceeds caloric intake, you lose weight.
Don't expect results overnight. You didn't get that big overnight; so, it will take some time to lose the weight.
Don't forget the exercise. Typically, when you lose weight, your body will burn the muscle weight first. So, you have to exercise to re-build what your body is burning.
Before starting any diet or exercise program, you should consult with your physician. If you're big enough to require losing 150 lbs., then your physician should be involved.
Do some internet research on the glycemic index of various foods. Eating the right foods based on their glycemic index will not only help you lose weight, but it will also prove to have other health benefits as well.
Good luck.

Try the Souper Soup Diet (a version of the Cabbage Soup Diet) at lillieross.com. You can sign up to receive the diet for free & they will also email you diet tips Tu-F each week. This diet really works...I have used it several times; especially when I wanted to lose fast. In fact, I’m on it now and have lost 12 lbs since last Monday.
or
Try the Fiber One Diet:
1 bowl of Fiber One cereal 3x day (breakfast, lunch & dinner) with skim milk (I use fat free Lactaid)
1 tv dinner (400 calories or less) for dinner
Drink 64 ozs water (drink plenty water or the fiber will constipate you)
Exercise 30 minutes each day
Note: This diet keeps you very regular (bms)
GOOD LUCK!

In order to lose that amount of weight, it is going to be a LOT of work. What you are going to have to do first is commit yourself. If you really want this you need to make sure you have the discipline to make yourself start and finish this. Eating healthy and portion control is huge. To start off you should cut down foods with high fat and empty calories. Exercise is also very key. Start off by simply just walking in your neighborhood for 20 minutes a day. I know it's alot of work. I lost 30 pounds by doing this.
I wish you the best of luck.

To safely lose a lot of weight, you need to talk with your Doctor...and work out a plan devised just for you.
To lose weight successfully, takes a positive mindset...and a lifestyle change too, as well as a diet change.
Remember, the weight didn't get there overnight and it won't go away overnight......But when you work at it....it will disappear in a healthy way....if you allow yourself to follow a healthy weightloss program.

I know it sounds weird but I lost 75 lbs on this diet. I took a 1ox shot of apple cider vinegar every day for 7 days and I went on a completely sugar free diet for 6 months (Be careful you would be VERY surprised how many things have sugar in them) You have to live like a diabetic. GOOD LUCK!!!!!!

You need to check into weight watchers or if you're looking for something free, try www.sparkpeople.com.
I started weight watchers two years ago and lost 60lbs in 6 months. I'm doing sparkpeople right now because it's almost the same, but free.
To lose weight, you have to make lifestyle changes. It has to be permanent or you will gain it back. I wish you luck! I hope you find something that works for you.

Losing weight is ever easy Watch what you eat, limit you calorie intake to a amount that is appropriate for you to lose wieght.
For me as a woman I had health issue that caused me to gain 60lbs, I gave myself a max of 1200 calories a day, low fat, low sugar foods, no pop, I switched to ice tea without sugar and with lemon and honey, and water. switching simple things to low fat makes a big difference. eat more small meals instead of 3 big ones. exercise even if its just walking. and treat yourself once a week within reason. eat what you like but limit the amount and switch to the low cal, low fat and low sugar. the only way to lose wieght is to watch what you eat. and you will lose it the right way and stand a better chance of keeping it off.
