I'm traveling with my hubby and two sons next Monday. We're flying from Calgary, arriving in TO at 7:45 pm at terminal 1, then flying out of terminal 2 headed to Orlando at 8:55pm. I'm concerned about the connection time - is 70 minutes long enough to change terminals, retrieve our baggage from the first flight, go through US customs and be on the plane in time for the second flight?? Has anyone personally taken this flight in the past and can offer advice?
Thanks!

a monorail at pearson?....haha

there are free buses that go around the terminals all the time.they are not far apart...the problem you may have is getting your luggage...usually it doesnt take more than 20 minutes..but you never know, and there may be a line up in terminal 2.....dont forget...besides getting your luggage on the US flight you need to clear US immigration in Pearson...you are cutting it very tight....try to change to a later flight or maybe earlier from Calgary

70 mins is not long enough anymore, things have changed drastically and I would be worried with such a short time to make the changes for an International flight, especially as you have to retrieve your baggae and recheck them yourself ( If the airline was doing that for you thats different ), god thats just so much time in itself. You need at least three hours these days. best get the later flight to Orlando really or leave on an earlier flight from Calgary. Generally Airlines require passengers to be at the terminal check-in at least "two hours" prior to departure for International flights, so theres your bench mark , they also close the check-in, at about an hour to departure and they might not let you get on even if you are there! with USA extra check in procedures and waiting in lines, you surely will miss your flight ! Dont risk it and spoil your trip ! Have a nice time!

My husband used to work at the airport there. I believe that the new monorail is now working. If it is it should be a really fast trip over. If not there are buses running continuously running from terminal to terminal. Let you flight crew know you have a connection they can sometimes help you. When you check in tell them you have a very close connection and see if they would mark you bags as priority for you so they will be stowed separately and unloaded first. Its worth a try.
MANX4080 Sorry its not a monorail its an inter-terminal train. http://www.gtaa.com/Index.aspxSid=Node2/Node2.3/Node2.3.9&Tpl=1
