as I read scripture He does allow anyone into heaven for eternity to be His friend if they want to be His friend. Since it is His neighborhood it seems only just that He only allow those who want to be there. It just does not seem right to force people to live in His neighborhood who do not want to be there. I think this the elect thing is misunderstood. It is like I watch TV and often know what is going to happen. That does not mean either that I approve or that I write the script , only that I have seen it all know the characters and authors and so it is not difficult to know what will happen. This does not mean He does not own the network so He can cancel a program if He wants to.

As far as I know, and that, unfortunately is not as far as I'd like, John Calvin was responsible for the doctrine of Election. It is not Biblical. Faith alone saves. God must call you, and this is where Calvin must have gone wrong, because God CALLS EVERYONE, not just a few. It is only just a few who respond properly, that's all. Read about the "Good News" (Gospel) in the first five books of the New Testament first and see for yourself how you can be assured you are saved when you are born again and baptized in the Trinity.

God has a select People in the Old Testiment, The Isrealites. In the New Testiment Jesus says "the only way to the father is through the Son". If you have accepted Jesus and asked him to lead you in life then you can be saved and be one of GOD's chosen people

I don't know where you got that info., but it is inaccurate. God does not elect anyone! He sent His own Son to die a hideous death for the sins of the entire world - ANYONE can have eternal life through Jesus Christ. Look up John 14:6 or John 3:16 - when God created us, He gave us "free will" to choose whether or not we want to believe. It's that simple, believe or don't believe. It's on us now. We either say "yes" or "no." simple. hey - say "yes." I'd like you to be in heaven with me. ok?

This is predestination question .. the first thing that pops in my mind is a verse that talks about God foreknew and predestined these people to be the image of Christ, something like that. How to interpret that can be relative. For me, foreknew doesn't mean God elected it, it means He knew who will choose Him from the start. And for those who chose Him, He will mold them to be the image of Christ. I don't think the Bible states anyone to be predestined to Hell but it do states that Salvation is available for all.
Anyway, predestination is a hard topic and its more than this question.. but it's a good topic.

God does not elect people to be saved. God gives us freewill. We make the choice as to whether we accept or reject Jesus. God gave us the law and commandments to show us that we weren't able to keep it. We can strive to but we can't keep it in our own power. But when Christ lives through us we are able.
Jesus put down his glory, and came to earth being fully man and fully God and keep all of the law. He died on the cross for all man's sins. We have freewill to choose to accept the gift he gives or to reject it. We can make Him Lord or we can make ourselves Lord.
God could have given us what we deserved. The wages of sin is death. The wages of adultery is the death of a marriage. The wages of doing drugs is physical death. And if we choose not to accept the gift God has given us, being more than just, we choose eternally to live in hell. If we choose the gift we will eternally live in heaven.
I think God gave us what we really didn't deserve so I would say he is more than just. God is all knowing. He doesn't choose for us but He knows how we will choose.

You might want to explore what the source is for your belief than"only a few" are elect? In other words, what is that belief based upon? Is it a truly reliable and credible source? Or is it based just on some person(s) opinion. Perhaps you need to explore the philosophical question of how one goes about determining what is true. Then find a religion that agrees more closely with what you believe to be just and true.

Salvation is for everybody, but it is a choice and many people elect not to make the choice when given the opportunity. God will not force anybody to accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior---it must be voluntary. People voluntarily enter into sin, so they must voluntarily elect to give up that lifestyle.

I thought there was only room for 144,000 people in heaven. (according to revelations). And men only too, no women allowed! Pretty soul destroying to end up there then for all eternity eh? And presumably the quota of 144,000 is already filled up by now, so probably not much point in trying at this stage of the game.

God does allow anyone to be saved. All he asks is that we "come unto him." He has given us his son Jesus Christ. Everyone will have the oportunity to hear of Christ, repent of their sins, (we all sin) and recieve eternal life. If you have more questions feel free to ask me. I can give you more specific answers another time. But rest assured "All man kind MAY be saved by obedience to the laws and ordinences of the gospel."
