Guys are afraid of commitment. He'll be with you and stay with out (exclusively), but once you start to label it, it gets weird for guys. I know you want the label and want to be his "girlfrield", but he may not be ready. I think you're better off just establishing that you're exclusive first, then move on from there. Baby steps.

Take him out somewhere special where you can have time alone. Then tell him exactly how you feel. Let him know that your different for all the other girls and that you would never try to change who he is, in fact tell him that you like him just the way he is. Then tell him that he's the one for you and your ready to make the relationship official.

Time is the only thing you can do, It takes awhile for guys to feel like its ok to go official, they don't see the meaning as much as girls do. To them its something to tie them down. Let him have his time, maybe theres something going on in the family that would make him question trusting someone. Letting someone close to a guy is hard for them. Give him time and trust that it will help. He likes you, and its true he's scared. I've been there with a guy. take time it will al work out in the end

Is there some sort of "timeline" or schedule? Does it really matter or change the nature of the relationship if you aren't official?
If you like the way he is now, then you'll wait for him.

If he's saying he's scared, he's simply not ready....or more likely, he's not interested. If you want to be in a relationship, you'll have to look elsewhere. He has already told you he does not want the same kind of relationship you are wanting. So you'll have to find someone else. Good luck.

He has still fear in his mind that like his first girl friend perhaps if you will act and leave him alone again!First of all remove the memory of his first Girl friend from his mind,go as closer as you can go to him, hold his hands and talk to him by laying down your head on his chest, but do not forget that your breast must touch his body.

Spend as much time with him as he's comfortable with - don't rush or push him, it'll take time, let him know you have respect for him and that you'll wait. He's at least being honest and not playing you - that's got to count for something.
