Let's get real now. How often do you read it and do you understand everything you read? If you don't get it, do you ask someone or hope that God will reveal it to you?

I have to admit that I read my Bible a lot more when I'm doing a Bible Study class (which for me runs during the school year). Our instructor (a dvd with Beth Moore - awesome! You should check her out if you haven't already!) is very informative and insightful. So what I read for that, I totally understand, or have it explained. But during the other times, there are things that I haven't a clue about. But I suppose if it's important for me to understand, God will reveal it (whether through divine intervention, having it pop up in a sermon, or a friend explaining it). Do I ask? Only if it's nagging at me. If it's nagging, I guess that might be God nudging me to go a step further, maybe!

I have in years past read all of it several times... I understand as much as God wants me to at the time. I believe I understand it more now than I ever did - and I read it on occasion - but not daily. I have never read it daily... I go on bible reading binges for a while and then I take long breaks from it. Go to church regularly and the preaching style is like an open bible study format. Many scriptures are read and discussed - so from that I feel like I read it every week... But I do think of things often and I go and look them up and read them. But it is not a formal bible reading plan.

As far as understanding everything I read - it is like a rose that is constantly revealing a new and deeper petal of truth. Understanding comes with time, trial and error, and good teaching. We can strive for understanding - but it is definately God who gives understanding, and ears to hear and eyes to see.

Yup... every day... I have been of The True Christian Faith for just over 6 1/2 years... I have yet to make it all the way through The Bible. It is a life long study, not a book to be read from cover to cover... Do I understand all that I read... no... But I do know that The Holy Spirit dose lead my study... when I slip and do not rely on Him then my study suffers... I am a part of a small mens study group, and I attend services every week along with Suday School... God revealed much to me at the instant of my Salvation... I was not wven interested in The God crap as i called it then... I got up in the morning and gave God not one thought...three hours latter I belonged to Him...God will reveal to every seeker what He wants that seeker to know.

I would caution to be suspecious of any one who calimed to have the Bible all figgured out...

If you have a question concerning the basics of The True Christian Faith you may eamil me

It varies from once a day to every other day and sometimes once a week. I've read it through at least twice. I don't understand everything I read. I have made a list of questions as I read to hopefully ask someone more knowledgeable than me at some time. If you get Pastor Charles Stanley on TV............he explains things so well! I like the Living Bible ...an easier to understand version, but everyone has opinions on which version is better.

I confess to not reading my Bible as much as I should. I tend to "sample" God's word rather than read it these days. I need to get back into reading it daily. When I first became a Christian I could'nt put it down. The New Testament literally came alive inside of me, but I have struggled somewhat with the Old Testament.

It is true that as a born again believer, God has revealed things to me through His word that exceed my natural capacity to understand, but His word is meant to be plainly understood by all who read it.

I have also found other peoples insights into the Bible to be very enlightening.

Yes, when I first started reading the bible years ago I read mostly in the book of Psalms. Now I read all over. Do I understand everything? No, but what I do understand really encourages my heart and speaks to me when I need to hear it most. It helps to read a daily devotional along with it. There's a good one at intouch.org.
I have a Dr. Stanley study bible for at home and at work it's easy to use biblegateway.com to look up verses. Right now I'm really into Isaiah 54.

I'm a Catholic, and I'll just come out and admit that I don't understand a lot of what I've read in the Bible. It's quite confusing at times. But still, it's good to keep trying. And every time I go to Mass, at least three different portions of Scripture are read publicly.

I have begun reading more often. The Holy Spirit has been giving me astounding revelation and I am so excited! I need it now more than ever. I am getting the "meat" of the word and I crave it. I love it when I have read something and can apply it to a situation that comes up in my life or I can use it to minister to someone. It comes to me without thinking.

The only thing i read in the bible is the Psalms and Proverbs.
If i am doing some kinda research and they quote a scripture i can use as reference, i look it up. Other than that i do not read it. I do not have the time to sit down and try to figure out what is real from what is fake.
