Breakfast may be important to get you going for the day, but for me it's not the best meal. I like a hard boiled egg, some cold cuts, and a hard roll, and plenty of coffee. Utilitarian but not a lot of fun.

Now if I'm on vacation, and can have some eggs Benedict and a few mimosas - then it's a great meal.

it's the first meal you've had in hours, supposively. and it's at the begining of the day where you'll need the most norishment to keep going..

make sure it's a good 'well balanced' meal. something that will carry you through to lunch or if you don't eat lunch then to dinner/supper.

make sure it's a good breakfast.. so you don't feel like you're dying or want to die.. starved.. tired or stuffy.

www.mypyramid.gov can give good suggestions of course it's the current food pyramid.

you don't always have to eat eggs, bacon, cereal, grapefruit for breakfast..

sometimes spinach (i know i know not funny the spinach crisis is over now????) rice, bread, steamed veggies, fruits, bagel, cottage cheese.. (if that is your thing) rice...

but make sure it's good stuff with minerals and vitamins... i know i know you've heard that crap so many times in your life if you were to get paid every time you were told this you'd retire now because you have 300 billion dollars to your name!

but it's a good start.. the DIET and BREAKFAST not the billions though the billions would come in REAL freaking handy now wouldn't they?

then you can hire a dietician and cooks.. to make your well balanced meals and treat dinners! OR they can not only do that but eat it for you too if you're that way.

while you lounge around your pool with your harem or something...

Breakfast helps to regulate the body metabolism after several hours of sleep. It helps to balance or 're-set' the body functions, plus the digestive system and all other organs of the body are more receptive in mornings at a more relaxed state than anytime of the day.

Got this out of Mens Health magazine: People who don't eat breakfast are 450% more likely to be overweight than those who do. How's THAT for a testimonial for eating breakfast every day?

"Breakfast like an emporer, lunch like a king and have a pauper's supper" is supposed to be the best digestive method! My nutrition tutor said it allowed the digestion to 'get up and going' for as long as possible and prevent it having to work hard on a large meal when it - and the rest of you - are 'closing down' ready for bed.

aaaahhhaaaa! it depends on what breakfast you have! All protein (grilled sausage, bacon and a poached egg, will keep you going till the afternoon, likewise Porridge (my fave)! although not protein keeps me going for hours!
Cereals or toast burn out after a couple of hours and you are hungry again.....I work shifts and actually I have not eaten anything since this morning...porridge, Yakult and a VIT8 vegetable drink...its now 8.30pm and just come off duty and I KNOW ITS BAD FOR ME but am genuinely not hungry and wont eat now until breakfast tomorrow.
