This absolutely has to do with him being neutered so young. Most vets call it a "pediatric spay/neuter". When the sex organs are removed before they can mature, often the dog will retain puppy like behaviors well into adulthood. Some may never go away. This is normal. Your dog will never be sexually mature, so he may not act like a typical male dog. There is nothing wrong with this. He may eventually lift his leg, he may not. No cause for worry though.......

There is really no right way for a dog to go pee. Unless you think there is a right way to pee for male and female dogs. My femal dog pees like a girl ad boy dog at the same time. She squats and lifts at the same time. I really dont care hoe my dog pees all i know is that she doesn't go pee in the house.

Because he was neutered at a very young age. This is why he doesn't lift his leg.
If he had been neutered later when he started to mature he would pee like a male dog.

My 5 month old Jack Russell can't make up his mind. Sometimes he lifts his leg, sometimes he doesn't. And usually when he does he lifts it so high he stumbles. I have actually seen him lift his leg to do #2 before. I guess he is still trying to figure out what he likes best.

I think you're dead-on re: the neutering.
I've noticed that males which are neutered before the start listing they legs continue to pee like a girl (or a puppy - actually).

As he has been castrated, it means he has no-one to show off too. He is also very lazy. Our dog does the same, but I just call him bone idle. It is always very funny watching him pee especially as it is like a girl Take the mickey out of him..

Yes it has to do with him being fixed. Dogs that are fixed from what I've been told don't hike their leg up to pee. My friend specifically didn't purchase a dog because of this reason.

Some male dogs just don't do it...and there is no proof that if you neuter a dog too early he will not lift his leg. That's a bunch of bologna! He may just not like it.

There is no problem with that. I have a 13 year old dal that does the same. It's just a choice the dog makes.

I know my dog does the same thing! I think it's probably of the texture of where there peeing. Maybe it's just easier.
